I'm having some performance issues in a game (Rise of Flight). Sound is odd, and my fps arent what many get with systems much less powerful than mine. I'm thinking this may be because of creative's drivers, but I'm not sure.
My system has onboard sound, tho I've never touched it or disabled it. When I built the system, I just plugged in the Sb X-Fi sound card and everything worked great.
Can I just go to Device Manager and choose \"disable\" for the SB card, and then restart the computer and have sound from the onboard sound?
not sure how to proceed, but I dont want to go thru the hassle of uninstalling the SB card just to test this.
Thanks!
Here's what I'm running if it makes difference:
Win XP sp3, Asus P6T, i920 @2.66GHz, Corsair XMS3 6gb RAM,
Nvidia 260 GTX 896mb Drivers: 195.62, Creative SB X-Fi drivers: 6.0.1.1373 (6/3/2009)

you just plugged it in.... just windows drivers and not using 'game mode' that would be your problem. your running in software sound mode.
there are new drivers specifically for windows 7 from creative. that's like running a nVidia 285 GTX in VGA mode

I seem to have a better workout dodging your stupidity than attempting to grasp the weight of your intelligence.
Let me correct that, I installed the sound card and also install the creative drivers.
As for \"game mode\", I just checked and that's the mode I have it in. Is there something else I should do?
I'm running WinXP SP3. The drivers I loaded were for windows....but if there's a better set/more appropriate to XP set, can you give me a link?
Thanks Bubba!
