GameSpy conveniently forget to include Planet Descent in a restructure, apparently... whatever the specifics it's no longer there. After a time in which the database behind it was down, the whole site just disappeared altogether. A few folks have taken it upon themselves to recreate the content under http://www.planetdescent.net, but I don't believe the missions are there as of now.

Here are a few alternatives:
http://descent3.levels4you.com/downloads.l4y?cat=33
http://www.enspiar.com/dmdb
http://www.pooterman.com

You might keep a weather eye on http://www.descentuniverse.com as well. If things work out for me I'll be heading a new Descent website there, with an extensive missions area.

See ya in the mines!

Dadas, I downloaded everything in the PD.com D3 Development section back in 2003. I have Dark Knight's d3controlpanel_v102.zip (350 kb). PM me an address if you want a copy.

You should use gamtool its a lot better than d3cp.

Oh, and you can grab both from the (still up) descent network download site:

Maybe we should make a new thread, clean it up and post links to all the levels since PD.net caved? Make it a STICKY also. :?:

I meant to become active here again even before the site went down, and I wasn't all that active on PD over the last year or so anyway. :P

Kinda on topic, I mean, it's about levels. What ever happened to Amateur's Arena? :< I haven't played in forever, took me a while to find out I had to get Vortex because PxO isn't working anymore, still haven't found out why.

But it seems the level that was really popular, next to skybox, back when PxO was alive is now no-where to be found. D:

I don't know if you are referring to the fact that it can't be found on servers or the mission itself is hard to come by, but the files are still available here:

It used to be the BOZ server, but then it switched to Ascent and people have requested that it stay there.

You could possibly ask Foil if he could get a server with it up. I remember it was really cool.

True. I just launched the Amateur's Arena server again - without BOZ for now.

I like hosting that mission so much because it always remembers me of having a blast there 10 years ago with Weedhopper, judas, Tyrant, UK-Andy a.s.o.

Have fun!

and not to forget www.d3fischlein.de - the page is in frames but if you click \"Levels\" and then \"English\" you will get here - just with the correct menu displayed: http://d3fischlein.de/levels/scripts/levels.php?lng=2

Well now there are two servers up with the level. But I hope they both get at least some players :) That level I played just about every time I played back in the day. It was the first level I played when I first played the game. Lots of good memories :>

It's never good to wake up in the shrubs naked, you either got way too drunk, or your azz is a werewolf.
