They will keep on making them until people stop buying them.

By the way, both of those sites linked are completely awful. Way overuse of flash and cumbersome.
Why doesn't it work?

I think Reach is the last one. Bungie has something else in mind after this project. (iirc)

Honestly though, from the interviews I've read and watched, the folks at Bungie really love Halo. It's not \"just a cash cow\" for them. It's a genuine passion. If they can continue making a quality product, then more power to them. I mean, we would want the same for Descent, right?

The Reach engine is the old engine completely overhauled. Better AI, capable of better physics, on the fly dynamic lighting... that kinda stuff. The Reach story line looks promising. I'm just not going to buy a 360. ;)

I disagree. It done well, artistically and tastefully. Not to mention that it secures the art.

i think the makers of descent were smarter when they stopped it at the third one. this is going to be what.. halo: 389 or something? :)

Let's be honest here.. has halo really brought anything unique to the table? anything that gives it any kind of a replay value?

not really.

oh, agreed. But really, neither has any other shooter. They all have their own take on \"physics\" and graphical whiz-bang; but in the end, it's all pretty much the same.

I guess it boils down to what you want to like about said game. :The story on this Halo is before the whole Master Chief thing. and like any new engine, it's a way for a company to show-case their new \"whiz-bang\". ;)

Halo 1 gave me some of my fondest video game experiences, far surpassing descent. Back then, 16-player games in Halo meant xbox LANs, and ordering pizza. It was truly an experience.

Because of that, I'll keep having a fondness for the Halo series. Though I no-longer have an xbox, and the last one I purchased was Halo 2. (I thought there where only three to-date, how far out of touch am I?)

Videos games are just so convenient these days. Have you been to an arcade recently? They try and stay ahead with more gizmo's and vehicles you sit in, but its not like back in the day, where Nintendo/SEGA brought you some neat games, but the really cool stuff you had to go outside for.

Goob, pretty close. There are 3 master chief titles and one RTS called Halo wars.

There were a number of us here in the Descent community that had a blast in Halo one. Ask about the box clan on .com. Stress and I had too much fun sniping each other in blood gultch.

Lets not forget Halo 3: ODST. Granted it's not a Master Chief title, but still, a Halo series. ;)
