You need to reinstall your DVD software. It should be on one of your restore disk or restore utility that Toshiba uses. None of those downloads will work. You must have a third party player for you DVDs to play in XP.

Is it that DVD videos won't play, or you can't read ANY DVD?

I can see the files on the DVD but it won't play.

Try playing it in VLC.

check and make sure the region is still set correctly, and try vlc.
Why doesn't it work?
