Payback Time

Post by Tunnelcat »

Well, Shirley Sherrod has decided to sue the right-wing smear blogger Andrew Breitbart. She should be including Fox News in her lawsuit as well. Bill O'Reilly was the ONLY person from Fox to apologize publically on air, but the damage was already done by then.

Seems like her own words was what got her in hot water not his. Besides he wasn't the one who had her resign. It's not like any one on the left will take things out of context and use against any one on the right.

ya there are not enough Judges and Lawyers in the country to handle all the cases against the left wing smear mongers.

Fox News claims that Sherrod had already been fired before the vid clip ever aired on Fox News.

A Fox News exec has admitted to publishing the story prior to Sherrod leaving office:

article wrote:But FoxNews.com did run a story about the existence of the video, titled "Video Shows USDA Official Saying She Didn't Give 'Full Force' of Help to White Farmer" at 5:58 p.m. on Monday, an hour before the Agriculture Department announced Sherrod’s resignation. And Wednesday, Clemente told POLITICO that was a mistake.

"There was a breakdown in the system, and it is being addressed," he said. "But it must say something about the power of Fox, that a week after she resigned, we're still talking about this."

An hour before she resigned is hours after President Obama decided she needed to be fired....
So lets all blame the right wing anyway because you know the evil Darth Cheney did jedi mind tricks on the poor President to make him do that

Yes, I'm afraid that Obama must share some blame here too. His administration had a knee-jerk reaction and fired her BEFORE looking at the circumstances surrounding the video and it's source. Sherrod DID say that Obama needed to take a history lesson after all this BS.

However, that doesn't excuse Breitbart and his posting of an edited smear video and Fox News for airing it ad infinitum for a whole day with hostile commentary that directly led to her losing her job. I've also noticed that Obama hasn't given her back her original job, just offered a token unfunded draft position. Nice. With friends like these.........

I have to agree. An edit is not the fact. The fact is she was asked to resign based on false evidence and that was wrong, and as I always have been taught 2 wrongs do not make a right.

edit: :P FOX news as already explained did NOT run a whole day ad infinitum!

I never said that the Obama administration should not share the blame.

They are clearly in the wrong. But I feel that Fox News, and especially Andrew Breitbart, are also wrong.
