If you think that's the best thing to do.

I'll just vote for the persons I believe to be the best choice. Be they incumbent or not, republican or democrat, or none of the above ... it doesn't really matter so long as I believe them to be the best choice among what choices there are.

Getting sick of all those wall to wall TV campaign ads yet? How about all the crap being sent in the mail?

How about this tactic Will? Vote for anybody who has NOT plastered sleazy, dirty, lying campaign ads all over TV ad nauseum and sent out wads of useless junk mail ads to clog our mailboxes. I figure that if any politician has that kind of money, they've been bought off in some form or another!

I’m going to write in for Mickey Mouse this year.

Yea…not original, but that’s just how I feel.

Yeah those guys were never supposed to make a career out of being a politician. Spend one term then get out. It disrupts the long standing crooks from being able to develop their plans of self service too. I think it would serve all of us well to start imposing limits on how much time each individual gets to spend in Washington and at the moment we definitely still have that power. Each election we should vote in an entirely new congress.

Mickey Mouse write-ins only piss off the poll workers that have to count them, vote for a random independent that is already on the ballot instead.

I'm gonna vote under the assumption we're all the same. Vote one out and jack another one just like him right up under him. That keeps it from getting personal and maybe then the job will become again what it was originally intended to do. Represent the people. Then they can make laws that in a few years they themselves will be subject to also.

well just to piss Bee off I'm going to vote for every republican on my ballot, whether I know anything about them or not :P

One day you will apply your set of standards to the democrat party as well and then you'll join the rest of us who don't vote to perpetuate the problem.

All Ive got on tuesday is a Congressman to vote for whos a shoe in for reelection, and a governors race that could determine whether Minnesota stays in the ground, where the current governor ran it into with his policies that were there to do nothing but make him look good for the national republican party.

I'm not voting. The governor's race is a joke, and I've looked at the sample ballot, and it's nothing but R's and D's all the way down.

Morality (from the Latin moralities "manner, character, proper behavior") is a sense of behavioral conduct that differentiates intentions, decisions, and actions between those that are good (or right) and bad (or wrong).
I find it Ironic that they list the Good as "Right" :D :P

Again Wood, as is the problem with Society Today. What do you Base your Morals on? if you have no base line to set the standard. then your morals are just your opinion.

And if you do have something to set your moral standard one, then what? Are your morals now merely the opinion of someone else?

It looks as if \"my side\" is in for a beating tomorrow, and for some reason, I am perfectly OK with that.

Maybe if we keep voting them out every election they will learn that \"yes, money can buy you an election, but it sure as hell can't buy you a re-election!\"

We already have "death panels". It's called the 'Free Market' and it decides who can afford to live or die!

What death panels are you talking about Woodchip?

EDIT: Sry TC, calling a social class system a \"death panel\" is a hell of a spin. Denying of health coverage to someone that actually causes them to die, yeah I can see that, but your argument has no real substance other than an emotional outburst.

TC must have forgot this thread http://descentbb.net/viewtopic.php?t=16 ... 8a6b1e5811 where she is calling for death panels. I'm sorry not death panels but
It about how we should decide on what we as a collective are willing to spend on extending life

Death panels are already in place by private insurance companies, by supporting them you support death panels so I don't see where this random objection to (albeit imaginary) death panels come from with the right wing propaganda.

The usual inane debate aside, I'm highly considering leaving both the governor and Senate ballots blank tomorrow, because both sets of candidates' ads have annoyed the ever-living hell out of me. I'll just vote for our local incumbent state representative, 'cuz she's generally a good person.

Why not cast that vote for one of the 'other' candidates on the ballot if there are any? I'm not saying conservative or liberal just anything that isn't one of the two bigs. The reason is, once the dust clears from this the political "scientists" working for the two bigs will be pouring over the poll results and if they see a significant swing away from their camps into anything outside it will send a much more effective message than if you appear to have "stayed home" in that race. When they think we just stayed home they tend to believe they just didn't manipulate you properly instead of seeing that you resisted manipulation and instead rebelled.
They will never step outside the box unless we do it first.

I might do that if there are any in those races, but only if I'm vaguely familiar with the platform on which said candidate is running. I'd rather write in \"C'thulhu\" than vote for the Pat Robertson Party, or something along those lines. :P

Speaking of lies....let's see some from the great lie master himself - not my words - or opinion - but from the great liar himself:

And of course here is the reality from another democrat socialist scumbag:

If the democrat socialists do not like free markets and capitalism and everything that made the U.S.A. great, then MOVE - there are a lot of socialist countries out there - MOVE to one of them! They have space because some of their citizens are standing in line to come HERE where FREEDOM and free markets reign.

For the sake of argument, lets suppose what you say is true. You are then of the opinion that having govt. bureaucrats take over the death panel job is preferable? At least with insurance companies one could always sue them or you could get a different insurance company. Try that with Obama Care.
