Or so Mara from NPR would have the ridiculous notion foisted upon her viewers:
NPR’s Liasson Compares Pelosi to Churchill
By Don Irvine Monday, November 8, 2010
NPR’s Mara Liasson guesting on Fox News Sunday compared the soon to be former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s “accomplishments” to those of Winston Churchill.
Thank goodness Britt Hume was there to point out correctly that Churchill led his country to a great victory and then was defeated in the subsequent election whereas Pelosi led her party to historic losses.
For Liasson who received a history lesson from Hume she didn’t help change the image of NPR being a bastion of liberalism at a time when the network is under increased scrutiny.
This just underscores the liberal mentality of the mainstream media where they try to twist the facts and create an image of the Democrats that compares kindly with history after suffering a humiliating defeat in an effort to change public opinion.
The idea of comparing Pelosi to Churchill is ... to me ... VERY offensive. Not to mention a stupid concept. Kind of like spitting a huge loogie on Churchill's grave.

In fact, it frequently gives me cause not come back. I only come back for other worthwhile (and intelligent) stuff. Which usually does not include yours.

She also isn't fondly remembered for insulting ugly women at parties.
Is there anything she will be remembered for that wasn't done purely for the benefit of her own personal interest or that of her party? Do you think she could rally the country to meet a challenge? Her career proves otherwise.
She is the former ranking crooked used car salesman and that's putting it nicely.

Hey, if she ever leaves Congress, she could always work for Government Motors. Their new ad line -
"You've just got to buy one of our cars to see what's in it!!!"

Do you at all understand the purpose of my post? I'm certainly not defending Pelosi.

I wasn't assuming any meaning behind your post one way or the other. In a thread where the legacy of Churchill and Pelosi are being compared I took the opportunity to add my thoughts on how I think Pelosi will fail to make a distinguishing mark on history. As bad as anyone can prove Churchill to be they will fail trying to hold Pelosi up to his standard.
Sorry if you feel like it some how impugned whatever intent you had but I wasn't going there with what I said. Unless of course you think she is the better of the two in any meaningful contest that doesn't include the counting of a uterus as an asset.

Lets see, Winnie led a whole nation through a hideously bad time and helped win a war. Nancy led a four hundred and thirty five man band of merry law-makers for a couple of year and wound up with the worst loss of seats for her party in 70 years. There's a comparison?
