If you are playing the new rebirth D2 and you want to use your old sidewinder Pro, you need to get a Manhattan gameport to USB device. It works perfectly for your sidewinder and I picked mine up for only $19. It even has twist!

Manhattan Gameport to USB adaptor
The stick runs in analog emulation -- hat switch is 4-way only, no base buttons, no more than one button registered at the same time in mode I, no slider in mode II. Build this for full functionality.

That’s not technically correct…only if the hat is the only sliding you have available…Foil wrote:If you use the hat for sliding, you cannot slide diagonally, which means you cannot tri-chord.
The converter Grendel mentioned is superior, and is only a few dollars more.
4 way hat and keyboard will give you the ability to slide diag.
Depending on your controller config…this may be an option…for others not.

I should have clarified, "If you use only the hat for sliding..."Spidey wrote:That’s not technically correct…only if the hat is the only sliding you have available…
