Home router recomendation.

Post by VonVulcan »

I think I need a new router, I am running an old netgear WGR614v4 and recently the wireless performance has been flaky. The router is no longer supported as far as I can tell. I was looking at this one,

http://homestore.cisco.com/en-us/Router ... ewprod.htm

It is on sale locally for $70.00

I run three to four computers, a network printer, file server and a BR player. The only wireless device I use on this is my laptop. Everything else is wired through a switch. Occasionally friends/relatives hookup to the wireless.

Suggestions?

Grab something that supports DD-WRT since most manufacturers seem to be pretty lazy in the firmware department on routers these days.

The above listed router supports it. Seems the first dd-wrt install is a bit cumbersome. Out of the box it seems to do what I want.
