Digital Sound Card Set up Windows Vista?

Post by Octane »

Hi all

I'm trying to install the origional 1994 version of Descent onto my Dell Inspiron with Windows Vista. Its all up and running and I have the midi music going but the sound effects aren't working :(

I am assuming this is due to the sound card set up but im not sure how to find out the port/irq/dma of my sound card in order to put it into the setup? and even before that I am pretty sure the card i have isnt on the list of options! If anyone has any idea how to get it all to work it would be much appreciated!

ps as im sure you can tell I'm not the best with computers so if you can help and explain it in lamens terms that would be great :)

Cheers

A newer machine running Vista will not use the old port/irq/dma settings for audio.

Try running Descent in DOSBox, or use one of the source ports:
