Cycling in Safemode

Post by thewolfe »

A friend has a Toshiba satellite_A105-S4094 and was running malwarebites in safemode when his battery ran out and shutdown his computer.

Now it just continues to cycle in safemode or Last known good configuration.

Anything else to try or is it time for a reinstall?

What exactly do you mean by “cycle” ?

If he wasn’t trying to kill a specific bug in safe mode, just let the computer go into “Last known good configuration”.

That should boot a normal windows session.

Keeps rebooting in any of the \"Safemode\" choices or regular mode. Get's to the Toshiba splash screen and then starts over..

Your options are limited if he doesn’t have a restore option, or any backup copies of the registry, Kernel…etc.

If you have a restore option…usually a key to hit during the startup, you can try that. (use only if you have a valid restore point saved)

Some others here can advise you how to boot using a startup disk, then fix the busted files.

If you can get ahold of it, MsDArT 6.5 will help you restore almost any windows install save a phsysically dead hard drive.
