Okay, so I downloaded and installed TeamSpeak3, hooked up a microphone and everything. What's teamspeak good for? How do you use it?

Are TeamSpeak and Mumble independently capable of connecting to a like server and have one hear the other?

as far as i know they are both simply server connect programs, and all thats required to connect to a server is the ip and a password if the server has one

They are unlikely to interoperate if that's what you're asking Zaphod. Most voice programs don't.

So are you saying someone using TeamSpeak can't talk to someone using Mumble?

Without having used (or knowing anything about) Mumble I couldn't say for sure, but I strongly doubt it.
