You need to watch your poll usage.
In response to the topic, yes, I thought they were good. Most people didn't.

anyways I just read a little bit of one book. I was just like "WTF?" i mean, the only thing Descent about them was it had Pyros and evil robots... But I think the book I read was like the second one or something so maybe I need to read the first one.

um, they had everything to do with descent.

And i personally liked them; they're decent books, but theyre reserved (pretty much) for only people who are descent fans.

Oh, and the material defender gets a lot of a.ss in the books, which i personally think is hilarious.

Just an FYI, I don't think some of the antics that may have been acceptable on the PlanetDescent forums are going to fly here Tomato.

Meaning we don't get as overly excited about EVERYTHING descent as PDers might.

That's funny, Tyranny, because he was banned from the PD forums :P. He seemed to have a rather annoying habit of constantly resurrecting dead threads/creating duplicate accounts.

Edit: Regarding your post in the PD thread, there's nothing to be scared of. We don't bite...much >:).

I thought the books were cool, although the thought of Dravis shagging someone made me lose sleep for weeks.

I've read the first two and enjoyed them a lot, not just because I'm a fan of Descent but because they were well written for the genre.

My copy of Descent: Stealing Thunder is also signed by Peter Telep himself! :)

Personally, I've never read them and never once saw them on book shelves anywhere.

*added the poll option to include users that haven't read the books yet.

Tomato, take it easy on the poll threads. You don't need to make a poll every thread you make just because the option is there. The Cafe isn't a spam forum.

They are not bad. Not classics or anything but entertaining for a Descent player. Capm had an interview with him posted on the old MS site at one time.

Tomato,
Yes there are 3 books written by Mr Telep
Descent
Descent:Stealling(sp?) Thunder
Descent:Equinox

I have all 3 and completely enjoyed them, and was able to scrounge up another set of the 3 books as a X-mas present for some1, He knows who he is.

I tried reading Descent Equinox. Got it for a dollar. But even though I'm a fan of Descent, that boked sucked donkey testicles. Talk about complete and utter crap! OMG - it's written by some sophomoric idiot (Teller? telfer?) and edited by a blind man. If you like good writing, or good stories, find another book to read.

I'm a pretty big book fan, and I liked the books, all things considered. Sure, they're not as much fun as playing, but they're an entertaining read, nontheless. Mobius, it might have helped if you had read all three books in order; it would be hard to jump in and enjoy what was going on.
