Heh. Actually, I initially meant to decline the mod offer.

Through some rough real-life experiences as a teacher, and a number of online interactions where I clearly didn't handle myself well (some of them here, I'll readily admit), I've become well-aware of some of my interpersonal weaknesses and flaws.

However, one thing I've found to be true is that the character of the people here has nearly always emerged over the uproar. As has been said before, the folks here are really the true moderators. Even the worst E&C threads are guided back on track or to a proper end, by the regular veterans, most of whom have been here longer than I.

In any case, I don't anticipate much need for official moderating. ...But don't test me.
