It would be practically impossible to "destroy the internet" as it exists today. The system is far too large and complicated for a single strike, or even many strikes, to destroy it. You'd have to EMP the entire planet.

Yeah, I've read it. My point is that EMP capability is not really very scary to me. Not to mention, North Korea would be a crater minutes after any such device activated on or over our shores.
