Sandybridge cpu and p6t mb?

Post by ReadyMan »

I've been looking at the sandybridge i7-2600k
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -E0B-Intel

Looks great (though I also read about a 6 core Ivy Bridge coming out soon...)!

Current mb (and system)
asus p6t mb (vanilla not deluxe)
i7 920 (OC'd to 3.0 now....limited by my ram atm)
Vigor monsoon 3 cooler
corsair 750w PSU
6gb corsair xms3 (3x2gb) DDR3 1333

I'm just wondering whether I could just do a cpu upgrade to the sandybridge and use my existing mb/cooler...?
(for that matter, could I put the ivy bridge on my existing mb?).

Crud.
Well, that means I'll wait, as I'm still going strong with this cpu.
Maybe I'll get some faster ram for a faster OC....

Thanks for the info!
