Ram for Oc'ing

My current OC is very minimal, due to airflow and my RAM.
I'd like to get more umph from my CPU if possible.
here's what I have:

asus p6t mb (vanilla not deluxe)
i7 920 (OC'd to 3.0 now)
Vigor monsoon 3 cooler
corsair 750w PSU
6gb corsair xms3 (3x2gb) DDR3 1333

I have two questions:

1--What's the best OC'ing RAM that I can get for my MB/CPU?
2--With decent Air cooling, and good airflow, what do you think the max stable day to day OC would be?

--edit--3rd question: would having 12 mbs of RAM be that beneficial? (I'm running win 7 64bit)
I'm trying to decide whether a RAM upgrade would be worthwhile, or if I should just stay put with the current setup for another year or two, until it makes sense to upgrade the CPU and MB.

I generally have to start doing some pretty heavy lifting with virtual machines and other large programs in order to make my systems 8 GB actually useful for things other than a massive system cache. The other thing to keep in mind is if you do 12 GB by using more sticks of memory (instead of larger sticks of memory), it will impact overclocking (fewer sticks of RAM = less capacitance = better overclocking). It is highly unlikely you will see games that benefit from more than 6 GB of ram for a while (or any other single application outside of specialized uses), especially since most machines in the wild are still running 32 bit operating systems that can't even address much over 3 GB.

As far as a specific brand of memory, there isn't a whole lot of variation between brands anymore. Stick with Corsair if you want, just get something rated for a higher clock speed. Pretty much everything should operate within the 1.65v limit for i7 processors these days.

I'll likely keep this memory for my next build (maybe one of the 6 cores coming out in the future?), so I dont mind having some extra RAM, but the whole reason for the new ram is to get something I can OC with, higher than what I have now.

Any idea how much extra umph I can get out of my 920 with faster ram?

The other thing I'm curious about is how do you know it is the memory holding you back?

It's only1333 memory.
I remember when I bought it you mentioned it wouldnt be that great for OCing.

Still, I would investigate how much higher your processor goes once you lower the memory multiplier first before spending $100 on new memory that may not make any significant difference (you could have a speed binned 920 that can't go much higher).

the brand I went with, and am very impressed with is the G-Skill Ripjaws line of DDR. I picked up a 2x4gb pack around january when I did a new system build and I'm now running my i5 760 at 4.1GHz. I could push for higher but I'm quite content to leave it as is.
