For house heat, we burned about 3 cords of wood, which me and my buddies went into the forrest and pulled out ourselves, so with the gas money to get there and operate the chain saws I would say it was about $50-60.

We have electric heat, so I'm not sure what portion of our bill came out to be heating-related. Hell, I'm not really sure what our bill is in general.

We heat our house with Kerosene still. Mild winters in GA, keeps the cost to around 300-350 bucks for the whole winter.

December - April (5 payments), gas heat, Denver, Colorado... $188.79 total.

We live on a 3rd-floor condo, about 1600 square feet. We get a LOT of heat from downstairs, I think. Plus, we program the thermostat to let it drop to 66°F at night.

Of course, it's the reverse during the summer. It's a pain to keep our place cool, even with shades drawn to keep out the sun, and letting in the cool Denver air at night.

I'd love to keep our place in the low 60s, but I'm not the only one there. Wife and son factor into the temp calculation.

Of course, when I'm home by myself, I'll let it drop to 60 or less. Nice and cool.

I should look into how much we paid.

We have a natural gas force air furnace, so we don't have to call the oil company, or anything of the sort. We did get a new furnace this last spring- supposed to be 95% efficient.

Veterans in Ohio get a fixed rate of 28 dollars a month for gas heating. so thats how much i paid.

i also have a house in ft. Meyers beach. heating is nothing, but construction cost to keep it out of the water, phenomenal. about 5400 a year.

Kind of lucky myself - I can go through the winter without turning on the heating, and it seems to be much cheaper to do that. Gets a little cold when it's below freezing outside, but tolerable. Bellevue doesn't have the extremes you'd see in places like Colorado or Michigan.

I like in northern Michigan (as in the upper peninsula), and run on propane in a crappy insulated house. It got cold here well before December - I think my heating bill since Nov - April has been like $2000? It costs $600 to fill the propane tank each time, and I know I had to do it a few times.
