...bring muslim consequences (if a muslim doesn't win.)
REUTERS - Violent protests erupted across Nigeria's largely Muslim north on Monday as youths angered at President Goodluck Jonathan's election victory torched churches and homes and set up burning barricades.
Riots erupted across the mainly Muslim north of Nigeria on Monday as President Goodluck Jonathan looked set for a landslide win in a weekend poll, which observers have described as the fairest in decades.
here's what the story says withOUT the lopsided thunderbunny edit
"REUTERS - Deadly rioting erupted across Nigeria's largely Muslim north on Monday as youths torched churches and homes in anger at President Goodluck Jonathan's election victory.
Jonathan, the first president from the oil producing Niger Delta, was declared the winner with around 57 percent of votes. He defeated Muhammadu Buhari, a former military ruler from the north, who got around 31 percent.
Observers have called the poll the fairest in decades in Africa's most populous nation. But Buhari's supporters accuse the ruling party of rigging and rejected the results.
The results show how polarised the country is, with Buhari sweeping the north and Jonathan winning the largely Christian south. Jonathan had nearly 23 million votes to just over 12 million for Buhari.
The Nigerian Red Cross said churches, mosques and homes had been burned in rioting across the north and many people had been killed, but it was impossible to give a toll for now."
...Why would a "largely Muslim" population burn mosques? You bozos have fun with that. You know it has to be stacked against the churches and homes of non-muslims. I hear of Muslim oppression of Christians over there through non-media sources--groups just asking for prayer, or Bibles.

none of us, save for maybe slick, can comment or even answer that.

And why, pray tell…is that?
The answer is pretty simple…when people riot it’s usually pretty indiscriminate…I seen it happen during the race riots here in Philly.
Black owned businesses were burned and plundered right along with white owned businesses, black owners started to put signs on their property…didn’t matter.

(maybe you were looking for islamophobia)
xenophobia=fear of those/that which is different. That is what manifests as Islamophobia, among other phobias. Oh, and to the question above as to why they would attack mosques, it is like I tried to say: like Christianity or other religions, there are many subsects. Sunnis could be attacking Shi'ite mosques, visa versa or some other variant altogether. The fact of the matter is that you have pissed off people in a developing democracy, angry over an election. In other words, I am agreeing with Spidey on this part.
