iPad = thousands of lost jobs ... ???

Post by TechPro »

Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. seems to think that the iPad is responsible for "eliminating thousands of American jobs."

I can understand having concern for the poor souls who may lose their jobs because of the advancement of technology and changing public demand resulting in bookstore chains like Borders shutting down, publishers and magazines struggling with selling their paper based products .... but I seriously doubt the iPad or Apple is to blame. Besides, there have been a LOT of jobs created around the design, manufacture, and selling of the products not to mention the products manufactured for the iPad and the software people use on them.

It irritates me to see blatant "voter protection" antics by politicians who obviously have no concept on the matter. I wouldn't have been surprised if it had been his father (the Reverend Jesse Jackson) but JJ Jr. is just 46 years old. Doesn't help that JJ Jr. did this after he getting an iPad and had previously promoted the iPad and Amazon on the House floor.

Sheeesh! Who votes for these losers?
