Crashing and random Freezing Rehashed

Post by Duper »

Hey guys,
remember about a year ago when my system kept freezing even after I replaced bad memory? Well, it started doing it again; only this time I've found out why.

First, I'm running Windows 7 64bit. and THERE in lays the problem.

No 64 bit browser supports (or is supported by ..depending on who you want to blame) FLASH!

So guess what happens when I play youtube for a half hour on Opera 64 bit? that's right! Doink! AAAAND it will happen even after I've closed out the browser. Adobe recommends you install a 32 bit browser. Win7 will let you do that.

Here is a link to what Adobe posted:
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/000/6b3af6c9.html

This is kinda lame. Both MS and Adobe need to get their act together. Both companies are large enough that this should NOT be an issue.

Any ways, I just wanted to pass this along for our admin/tech guys out there.

It is all Adobe's fault. Also 64 bit web browsers are a microscopic portion of the market so definitely not a priority for anyone.

There really isn't any useful benefit to using a 64 bit browser currently so just install Opera 32 bit.

yeah, that's what I intend on doing. I'm still running FF 3.6.16 so there's no real hurry. Opera has a greater range of my bookmarks is all and that's easily fixed..if wanted.

kinda weird to hear browsers as a "market" post browsers of the 90's. ... I know it still is a "market", you just don't hear about it as much.
