UT 2004 64 bit

Post by CDN_Merlin »

Does anyone play UT 2004 using the 64 bit version?

I downloaded the patch and put it where it went. When I try to run it, it tells me my cd key is wrong and I have to re-install. My game is store bought and legit. Works fine in 32 bit mode.

Any ideas.

That 64 patch is nothing but a hassle! But this quick fix might help. Delete the UT2004.ini file located in UT2004>System. Make a back up copy of it first.

If you also want to check your CD Key. Start>Run>Regedit

Windows 32
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, Software, Unreal Technology, Installed Apps, UT2004, CDKey

Windows 64
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, Software,Wow6432Node, Unreal Technology, Installed Apps, UT2004, CDKey

I stop using it, because some of the server I still play on would freeze or crash the game.

Remember that on a 64 bit OS, a 32 bit application still gets more address space than it would on a 32 bit OS. Although most programs aren't designed to use more than the 2 GB they normally get in a 32 bit OS anyway.

I deleted the ini file and still no go. Oh well. I know my CD key is good because it's a store bought version.
