Webcomix Thread Mk II

Post by Gekko71 »

Post your new favourites if you've got any. 8)

Me first - with apologies if I'm telling you something you already know:

Grrl Power - Mostly NSFW
A lighter-hearted look at the superhero genre. Well drawn, well written, funny as hell and features some of the best usage of profanity I've seen since "The Critics (NSFW!) " It's just getting started, highly recommended.

Spinnerette
Another lighter-hearted look at the superhero genre. Very well drawn.

Brainslug Comix
Weird, fun, violent, occasionally funny, often strange, strangely addictive. You'll never look at fluffy bunnies the same way again.

Out There
The joys and pitfalls of being single, as seen through the eyes of a self-obsessed barmaid. This is comedy gold in my view and is far, far better than that description sounds. Took a while to get going but well worth the effort. It looks like Doonsberry and feels like "Friends" - plus it's a daily strip and regular as clockwork. Not hilariously funny, but it is consistently witty. Not for everyone, but personally I love it (I'd swear I went to high-school with the main character...)

Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal

Yeah I know, I know - it's old hat to most of the regulars here - but Damn I wish someone had told me about this years ago. I mention it for the sake of those few who haven't seen or tried it out yet. Sick, twisted, irreverent, super-nerdy and always fun.

More to come later...

...NEXT! :P

As you can see, I like a variety of stuff, especially science fiction, with a particular emphasis on long, long storylines.
Freefall is definitely a long, long storyline. In its 13 year history we've had what, maybe a month of story time?

8-bit Theater: http://www.nuklearpower.com/2001/03/02/ ... ing-where/

It's finished but there is a lot of material (1224 pages plus a long epilogue). It was also made into 5 movies on Newgrounds (with some pretty good voice acting actually - no word on whether there will be more though). It's hilarious and it's like an enourmous graphic novel (with 8-bit graphics! :P).

About a doctor who also happens to be a ninja. And of course, there are pirates (though not as common a you might think).
