How to test your website on different browsers.

Post by Isaac »

This is the only site that I know of that does this. I've been using it for a while.

I remember seeing a demo from Expression Web that indicates MS has a similar service, but I'm not sure it can be used in isolation. As you might guess, I haven't used it personally.

Oh yeah?

And for some reason that reminded me of this:

I think this lets you try your site on different browsers. And this is also a web service, I believe.

If your site has interactive javascript, then there's no replacement for testing on the real thing.

If you have at least one Windows license, you can use these Virtual PC images for testing all IE's:
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/de ... n&id=11575

Then while you are using them you can also pepper them with whatever alternate versions of Firefox/Opera/Safari/etc. you don't want to run on your main box.

The annoying thing about these images is that they expire, and then you have to download new ones. The alternative is to sell out and buy an MSDN subscription. ;)

Brilliant. Thanks for that Isaac. I'll be using that extensively in the future I think.
Eh?

This one's much faster, but only will test IE browsers.

Adobe browser labs works with javascript (obviously you can't interact with it). What is nice is you can setup overlayed screenshots of each browser, and see how they differ. You can also have it delay before it takes it snapshot (so if you have javascript that delays or something).
