Incidentally, the Hammer tool (in Valve's SDK ) looks just like the Descent 3 level editor ....hmm.

I already got Portal 1 last year on Steam when it was free for limited time and I beaten it several times (the main story that is).
EDIT: I've installed the Source SDK and... Holy smokes! Duper is right about the Hammer Editor

The editor interface is similar.
It's much much easier than D3edit though. I've used it some (tried making some Half-Life 2 maps mostly).
When you actually learn how to use Hammer it's very different. But you knew that.
