Sounds like good tasting ice cream, despite the name.
Prudes
Re: Prudes
That One Million Moms group's site is one of the most hilarious things you'll ever read. The term "stick up their ass" comes to mind.
Also the original sketch the flavor is based on was fantastic.

Cat (n.) A bipolar creature which would as soon gouge your eyes out as it would cuddle.

"oh no! it might be offensive to children!"
yeah. ever think of sitting down and educating your little rugrats, mommy? nah, you're too busy trying to get the government to do your job for you.

Well, IMO the name of the product is deffinately just stupid locker-room level humor, and distasteful. In keeping with the dumb, inane, and pathetic humor typical of SNL these days. IMO.
Boycotting, or asking the stores not to carry the flavor is ... not right. Ben & Jerry's is entitled to name their products as they've chosen. The stores are entitled to carry the flavor if they wish. Patrons of the stores are entitled to buy the product if they wish to. The patrons can also avoid buying it if they wish.
Objecting to the stores selling this particular Ben & Jerry's product because the name is similar to describing a part of male anatomy, is like objecting to bananas because the shape of the bananas is similar to depicting a part of male anatomy.
If you don't like it, just avoid it.
IMO.

Re: Prudes
If the prudes want to see something offensive die a quiet death, they need to learn to ignore it. There's no better way to draw attention to something than to raise a big public stink and call for banning it. Once that happens, it gets on everyone's radar as a big red flag. Apathy is a far better tool to get objectionable content to fade into the background. People never learn.
Tried the ice cream from my local Safeway. Tasted pretty good too, although I'm still partial to the Phish Food and Peanut Butter Cup flavors.

yeah except this name is from one of the classic skits from mid 90's i think. back when SNL was good.TechPro wrote:Well, IMO the name of the product is deffinately just stupid locker-room level humor, and distasteful. Re: Prudes
Really sucked by the mid-1980's, after they lost all the good original people like Belushi, Martin, Chase, Curtain, Radner and Aykroyd. They also got in trouble for a Wayne's World sketch that implied that Clinton's 12 year old daughter couldn't cause males to "Schwing!" Definitely a tacky reference in that case.
