Disable keyboard shortcut for Windows Photo Viewer

I use Hotkeycontrol for shortcuts to files/folders & locations.

All of a sudden one of my shortcuts is opening Windows Photo Viewer.

Is there a way to disable the Windows shortcut keys?

you mean disable the Windows key?


google "Disable Windows Key" and you will find it easily. its a registry entry so, you need to know how to use the registry editor, or in most cases some websites have it set as a batch job and you can just download and run the editor batch command and it will do it for you.


needless to say DO NOT EDIT ANYTHING ELSE or you can and most likely screw up your windows installation or other programs

Sorry, didn't splain well. I use a shortcut program and use ctrl alt P to open a program.. Now when I use that keyboard shortcut. The win Photo viewer comes up.

its probably your hotkey program.

to wit:make a shortcut for a folder, then bring up its properties, you can assign a shortcut key that way.

Right-click a shortcut and open it's properties. One of the option fields is for assigning a keyboard shortcut. Note: this ONLY works for shortcuts under your Programs menu. All others are ignored.
