So there are quite a few search engines out there. Google probably the best (assumption). However, I don't really like google. It's become slow as hell on my computer, and every time I clear cookies or reinstall my OS, I have to go back into my google search settings and put them back to the way I want. WTF!? It's a website. Just save my settings on your server!!! I want to set and forget!

Anyway, now I'm using duckduckgo -dot- com as an experiment. It was announced that all new Linux Mint operating systems would have duckduckgo as their default search engine on their web browsers. Maybe because duckduckgo default theme is green and so is Linux mint? They say it's because they like their features, like how they don't bubble or track you. I didn't care too much about the tracking, but the bubbling could be an issue for wanting good results (opinion). Also, if I want to search on google, I just include "!google python" in the search box. It kicks me over to google running a search on python. In fact it has lots of cool familiar search syntax I like. Some new stuff I've never seen used in a search box. It does the same for !youtube and some other sites. edit: !py is another.

I too have been seriously annoyed with Google and their crazy new browser hanging "features." I've turned most of them off. I use Duck Duck Go for some basic search, then use Google/Bing/Whatever for other, deeper searches if I need to. At one point I was using Yebol, but damn it was always down.

on google? yeah. for my calendar, youtube, and a few other things. duck duck go? nope.
