completely fails to account for tax revenues generated directly and indirectly by aliens. Like it or not, they do add some stuff to the plus column. Care to look those up and recalculate. I think you'll find the number shrinks a lot.

You're forgetting the Defense Budget for 2012, 703 Billion dollars.

http://articles.businessinsider.com/201 ... t-requests

http://www.defense.gov/news/newsarticle.aspx?id=62803

Funny how Conservatives have no compunction spending wads of cash on killing and killing machines, but not on our country's own people, illegal or not, rich or not, working or not, sick or not, young or old.

Obama's no better because his military spending is bigger than Bush's. He really a conservative in disguise. They're only running idiot conservative candidates in this primary so that they'll look so inept, Obama will be a shoe-in to win. Wall Street secretly wants him to win in 2012. He's really their man.

I think you'll find most of the excess money the illegals earn gets sent back to Mexico.

NAFTA is to blame for this and our government for allowing free pass across the border. I agree with Grendal, make all that are here legal, tax-paying citizens and close the border. The blame lays at the feet of in particular David Rockefeller and all who supported NAFTA. I will say one thing about David, he is no simpleton, but in no way would I support animosity towards the people just like you and me who saw the opportunity given and took advantage of it.

I would agree, but frankly I think it's a bad idea to set such a precedent, so I think it would have to be handled differently than just automatically giving everyone who is already here a free pass to citizenship. It's a bad precedent because they have broken our laws. Who's to say the next ones to break the laws don't get the same pass? I don't have any problem with welcoming good, hardworking Mexicans into the U.S., but IMO there must be a recognition of the laws broken and means to set that right. Otherwise some idiot(s) might get the idea that this country is theirs for the taking along the southern border.

Well, that precedent was set with NAFTA :P. I see them in the stores, at the bank and walking in the park. No way I could rip the carpet out from under their feet. I agree to closing the border immediately, but these people are pawns just as you and I. There's enough bread for all if those in power would quit hoarding it for themselves.

Nobody said free citizenship. Legal residents will do, puts them right into the taxpaying loop, allows for shutting down any services for illegals, and helps weeding out the illegal criminals.
VonVulcan wrote:So you wouldn't mind me coming down, letting myself into your house and walking off with your rig then? Lets make it legal to.
You can try. Be warned tho, you may be in for unpleasant surprises :P You think all illegals are all equally criminal I take it ? What's your proposal for a solution then, I'm all ears.

I think you don't know squat about what you're discussing. First off, I am not even discussing excess cash. Those illegals and legal aliens purchase stuff at the food stores, Walmarts, hardware stores, gas stations et al. They also pay sales taxes and in many states highway fees, because they can get driver's licenses. It adds up, and wasn't accounted for in the intial post at all.

Well Mr Smart, I wonder where the money comes from that they use to "purchase stuff" from. Perhaps this little graph will enlighten you somewhat:

immigrant-welfare-use-4-11-f1.jpg
immigrant-welfare-use-4-11-f1.jpg (81.55 KiB) Viewed 4892 times
As you can see Hispanics are recieving their share of welfare. While the above graph contains both legal and illegal households I suspect one would find the amount of tax revenue illegals put in from sales tax and highway revenues are a pittance of what they take out from welfare and hospital care use. Next time you want to squat and spit out some useless opinion do it over at the Democratic Underground Movement Board (D.U.M.B.)

so, since some Hispanics receive benefits, this can justify a blanket statement? As you state, it doesn't even break down into legal or illegal, you are simply making assumptions(largely bogus and ignorant ones that have been repeatedly disproven). Great argument, I'll bet you were at the top of your debate team roster!

A further commentary worth pondering.......until around 1920 or so, any resident alien, who was white and male, could vote in national and local elections. People who get all worked up over this immigrant issue seemingly forget how common it has been throughout US history to get hysterical over the matter of 'invading hordes', be it Irish, Eastern European, Italian, Hispanic, whatever. Today's laws are extremely restrictive to aliens, and in fact might be serving to restrain our economy and add costs to our government. Sadly, no political mass will develop with the balls to pursue this logic. At least, not for another generation, when Hispanics will be the largest single voting bloc.

Yes Slick, it makes perfect sense to colonize and then create a new nation, set forth laws built upon common ideals, establish it as a world power, then give the majority vote to unnaturalized immigrants. You sure your not a commie at heart?

EDIT: Lol, I bet you have a contingency escape plan if all else fails. Come on, let's hear it.

Lol, I don't know how to respond. Is that what you got from what I wrote? When dealing with you Ferno I almost feel the need to quote everything I've said previous in a thread just so you can keep up. Now that we are established, and in the 21'st century, protections need to be made for our way of life. One would be too prevent a flood of unnaturalized citizens from deciding our elections. Well, if you can't see that, you might be a commie too ;)

Just because things are beyond your ability to conceive, doesn't make it incoherent. It makes you shallow and small-minded. There is not one place you have a genuine response to anything I've said. I have talked with Sirius in voice-chat concerning the very same matter, and he was more than agreeable. I would bet you don't have an idea of what your arguing about even at this point.

EDIT: Commie ;)

"Some" Hipanics? It's 66%. Please give all of us a link to show my assumptions are "Bogus" and repeatedly disproven. If you can't produce any then you once again show your Democratic logic of "We have to pass the bill before we can know whats in it."

A further commentary worth pondering.......until around 1920 or so, any resident alien, who was white and male, could vote in national and local elections. Well lets parse this a bit:
Resident alien was here legally and not someone who snuck in. By your logic Santa Anna and his troops should of just been a voting block to cede Texas back to Mexico instead of fighting at the Alamo.

The Invading hoards, while true that they were looked down upon, did come here legally....or do you conveniently forget that?

Restrictive laws? How are they more restrictive than they were a hundred years ago? Or do you mean things like making sure the immigrant applicant does not have any infectious diseases and is given a medical check-up?

Restraining our Economy.....HaHaHaHa...nice try at blanket stupidity. Even Zuruck is smarter than that

Ferny, how grossly inept. We want those tired/poor/huddled masses to come here legally. Perhaps we could send a few illegal families to live with you and Slick as you both seem to be so kind hearted.
