windows -> linux backup suggestions?

Post by snoopy »

I got a spare linux box up and running with an external drive, for backup purposes.

I have my machine backing up to it successfully via rsync.... the cron job doesn't seem to be running correctly which i have to figure out, but manually running my backup script is successful.

Now I'd like to similarly configure my wife's windows vista machine to automatically back up as well.

I can try using an rsync gui that I found on sourceforge, or I can look elsewhere. Do you guys have any suggestions?

I've had really good success with PureSync. I use the paid version at work, and free one at home - I like it because it just works, and can "watch" folders for changes, and sync them quickly.
