Theocrat Santorum and his pastor

Post by Tunnelcat »

So, everyone thinks Obama has his crazy pastor, well, so does Santorum.
Reverend Dennis Terry wrote:“I don’t care what the naysayers say. This nation was founded as a Christian nation. The god of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. There is only one God. There is only one God, and his name is Jesus. I’m tired of people telling me that I can’t say those words. I’m tired of people telling us as Christians that we can’t voice our beliefs or we can’t no longer pray in public. Listen to me. If you don’t love America, and you don’t like the way we do things, I’ve got one thing to say, get out!” Terry proclaimed loudly at the Greenwell Springs Baptist Church Sunday evening. “We don’t worship Buddha, we don’t worship Mohammed, we don’t worship Allah. We worship God. We worship God’s son Jesus Christ.”
The Sermon

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/20 ... n-america/

So, all of us that are Liberal, Atheist, Agnostic, Secular, Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim or anything else NOT of this guy's preferred Christian Faith, we should all just get the hell out of America because we are not right for this country and that all of our problems would go away if everyone just followed the true Christian Faith and the rest of the non-believers were kicked out. So tell me why I, and anyone else not of the Faith, shouldn't fear and loathe Christians, especially if a man like Santorum, who obviously gets this pastor's support, happens to become our next president and Theocrat in Chief?

Santorum backpedals and claims he didn't clap and doesn't agree with this man's words. Well, at the end of the sermon  , the camera pans over to Santorum and there he is, clapping away like a little puppet.

You know, the more these guys whine that they're under some type of persecution in this country, the bigger the backlash they're going to get. Christians already HAVE the freedom to worship as they please, believe in what they please and build and worship in as many churches as they please, without interference from others in this country. This pastor is free to say what he wants, but he seems to ignore that not everyone wants to listen or follow him. These guys haven't figured out that this country started out as a melting pot of immigrants of different faiths and creeds and that Christian beliefs ARE NOT A REQUIREMENT FOR RESIDENCY IN THE U.S.

Santorum's done after Illinois, time to move on. Seriously, I defy anyone to give me any scenario other than Romney getting the delegates he needs for the first ballot at the convention. It is staggering that the GOP continues to let the ongoing nonesense continue, as it gives more airtime to allow stuff like the above to further dim the moderate view of the their party, and allows time for nitwits like Romney's staffer to give the world his Etch-A-Sketch analogy. They have set themselves up for an absolute debacle in an election where they could have done well and it's mind-blowing for this political geek to watch......

I'll have to give Santorum and Gingrich credit. They are setting up the scenario for THE most entertaining Republican Convention since the Democrats melted down during theirs in 1968. And everyone thought elections were boring. :P

Yeah, this whole GOP race has turned out way different that I thought it would. Right now the top candidate is the guy who lost to the guy who lost to Obama, and he doesn't even have full GOP support. All I have to say to the republican party is, "start praying, because you're going to need a miracle to win in November."

It's probably best if everyone with bad feelings just gets used to the idea of 4 more years with Obama.

First off once Romney cinches the deal you will find he will have full GOP support. He will also have more of the independent votes than Obama and he will even siphon away Democratic votes. As for praying, wasn't the same thing said about Reagan ?

What is really best is for Libs like you to understand hope and change was a ploy never intended to work....was just to get Obama elected. Say hello to 4 years of something actually getting done by someone who actually has experience doing so.

If Romney cinches it, tell me why I should vote for a Plutocrat who would grease the skids of his rich crony friends on Wall Street while in office and who could really care less about anyone who actually works for a living and needs a living wage, not a slave wage?

First, I never voted for Obama. Second, I have no idea what you mean when you call be a "Lib." I don't subscribe to any one political philosophy, so if it makes you feel good to tag me with that title, go ahead, but the meaning is lost on me.

I not terribly happy with the way Obama's presidency has turned out, but man, the alternatives presented by the "other party" seem horrendous to me. But I guess this is why we have a democracy, to do our best to govern ourselves.

At least Obama has never been a Parasitic Venture Capitalist. I guess I'll have to choose between rotten and putrid come next November. But at least the Republican Convention will be entertaining.

The problem with Obama is he has never been anything of substance...including being POTUS. The difference between him and Romney is Romney can read a ledger sheet and Obama has trouble reading a menu.

Neither have enough respect for our constitution, if they have any at all, so why on Earth should they hold the highest office in the land?

If you are willing to share whatever you are smoking, come on up and meet me in Chincoteague this weekend and I'll buy you all the steamed crabs you can eat. Get out and talk to some independents and Democrats and see how willing they are to vote for Romney after he's spent the better part of 2 years pandering like a cheap whore to the ultra right wing. Oh, and that 'Etch-a-sketch' picture his campaign aide drew for us all really seals the deal, too.

Yeah, right up there with the "Give me more slack Putin and I'll be your bag man after I'm re-elected" comment Obama made.

And skills like that make someone best able to be in charge of a country? A heartless numbers man! Bwaaahaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaa!

Uh huh. Reagan almost started WWIII with his little mic accident. The Soviets actually went on high alert after this little "joke" was broadcast around the world.
Reagan wrote:"My fellow Americans, I'm pleased to tell you today that I've signed legislation that will outlaw Russia forever. We begin bombing in five minutes."

which 'comment' you infer from your vast trove of International Diplomacy experience, right? Because, those weren't the words spoken. Ever consider that the point was that nothing gets done in the US in an election year, so back off, Ruskie? Who knows what they were talking about, truth be told.....but, it's humorous as all get out to watch the predictable players make stuff up.

"To recap, on Monday at the Nuclear Security Summit in Seoul, South Korea, President Obama whispered to Russian President Dmitri Medvedev that he would have “more flexibility” to deal with controversial issues such as missile defense after the 2012 elections, "

"Boehner in a letter to the president today, expressed similar concerns, writing:

“America’s missile defense program is critical to our homeland security and the collective security of our NATO partners, and it has clear implications for the security of our allies in the Middle East. I and other Members of the House have previously expressed concern about your administration’s apparent willingness to make unilateral concessions to Russia that undermine our missile defense capabilities. Your comments reinforce those worries."

So once again Slickster, your attempt to spin and mitigate is shown to to be faultlessly inept. I wish you'd at least do a little research so your storyline at least has a element of truth to it.
