Really Simple 6DOF 1v1

I'm wondering what the demand would be for a super-simple 6DOF game

Strip it down to the basics:

1v1 online anarchy multi-player (manual IP guff) (no single or co-op)
Only one weapon
Only one tiny level
Full 6DOF with configurable keys only control
Only one Energy bar used for shield and weapon that slowly regenerates (no pickups)

In case you're wondering:
As part of DEEP Space I may include a multi-player system (some time, far in the future, after I have single player sorted)
As a bit of a test to see the plausibility I have built a system where you can fly around in 6DOF (up to 4 players, but tested only 1v1). I'm wondering if I should set it up as an arcade style game, and distribute it, or if I should just keep it to myself as a research file to eventually be placed into the main game.
It would probably take about a month or two to finish it up nicely (Still to do: Death/Spawn, damage (tweak the weapon so it works reliably), nice GUI for IP settings)

So, what's the verdict. Consider the test successful, and wait for DEEP Space, or take a month or two break from DEEP Space to make this?

The 1v1 thing sounds like fun! And it could be very handy for the dbb.
I'd love to go, "Foil, how dare you say my dog pictures aren't E&C material. To the death!" Then we launch the game to settle the disagreement.
Then Foil would say, "Isaac... you win... your dog... can ... be ...". Foil suddenly grabs his wound and goes silent.
"Say it!! Don't die!! Say it's ok!!" shaking Foil. Isaac threw his hands in the air yelling "NOOOOOO".
Then Isaac's dog appears, "it was me! I poisoned Foil!"
"No! That's not true, dog!"
"It is! You shall never post me in E&C!" Isaac's dog said as he tossed his cape to the ground, drawing his sword.
"Dog, what you've done is unforgivable!!"
"But he wasn't alone!!", said a voice from above. "It is I, the cat."
"You and dog joined forces!!?!?" Isaac said wide-eyed. "It's clear, you must both..... DIE."
Later, Isaac lay on the rocks, believing he was breathing his final breaths. Cat and dog were closing it to give their final attack, when suddenly something blocked them. Isaac tried to look but he was in too much pain. Whatever it was, it had knocked dog back and sent the cat running for cover.
It came over to Isaac and said, "Sorry I'm late. They tried to divert me, but I saw threw their wicked plan. I am your goldfish. I'm here to protect you." The goldfish picked Isaac up and flew threw the air, back the flying Island, where they live. Isaac is safe for now.


Anyway, 1v1 would be good.
