Internet I.D.

Post by woodchip »

Seems the Euro's are contemplating a way to track your every movement on the net. Of course it is all being done to insure your safety while surfing so we should all feel good about it....right? RIGHT?:

"The European Union is now moving to create a mandatory electronic ID system for all EU citizens that would be implemented across Europe to standardize business both online and in person, authenticating users via a common ‘electronic signature.’ A single authenticating ID would guard access to the Internet, online data and most commerce."

What about in the U.S.? Even here they're trying to get rid of the anonymous internet.

I'd be interested in how they implement it. My perception is that there are more people on the open source/no DRM/etc. train in europe than in the US.

Also, my goal is to be the ultimate cyber bully.
