Xenosaga Episode 2: Jenseits von Gut und Bose

Post by Stupid »

Okay... since noone replied in the E3 ownage section, does that mean that there is NO new information on Xenosaga JvGuB? The closest that I could find anything new about it was a guy just briefly mentioning that it was at E3.
Also, Der Wille zur Macht was "the Will to Make/create", which is what Albedo was saying (late in the game) humans have the ability to, but all too often they choose to create something that destroys everything (such as a weapon like himself). Jenseits von Gut und Bose translates into "Beyond Property and 'bose' (which I would take means Grandeur/Wealth)."

Thanks a lot, Sage! That was definitely enough to wet my salivatory glands! :D
Also, thanks De Rigueur, but I still think the first one is more of a Will to Create, as Albedo hit heavily in his speeches of madness at the end of the game. Good hit on "beyond good and evil" though.

Macht
"beyond good and evil" is correctly translated.

Sorry Floyd, I know you speak the language, but I just want to back up where I'm getting my info so that I don't look like a complete idiot.

The problem with "Will to Create" as a translation is that "to Create" is an infinitive verb and "zur Macht" is a prepositional phrase with "Macht" as its object noun. However, the idea of creation, especially the creation of value through an act of will, agrees with Nietzsche's thought.

lol, it's ok stu. babelfish is always good for a laugh. neither do you look like an idiot when translating something wrong. (i don't want to know how often i create funny lines in english, hehehe)

you will find "macht" also as verb under my link which is a conjugated form of "machen" (=to make)
