The fastest land mammal on record, an 11 year old cheetah. 100 meter dash in 5.95 seconds! The human world record is 9.58 seconds. Isn't that old age for a big kitty? Guess we'd be lunch in less than a 100 meters.

A cheetah will live, on average, up to about 12 years in the wild and as much as 20 in captivity, so I'd say that'd be the equivalent of someone about 35-45 or so

I was using the domesticated cat calculator to estimate cheetah to human years. The first year for a cat is equivalent to 15 human years. The second year of a cat life, you add 10 years and for every year after that, you add 4 years. But I'm not sure how that translates to larger felines. Probably the larger animal lives longer. I had a Manx cat as a child that lived for 18 years. It was still around when I went off to college, and after.

I gather he hasn't figured out how to jimmy the feeder yet and get himself the full supply of food.

We used to have a cat that would charge into the kitchen if all you did was shake a Tender Vittles bag. She'd be anywhere in the house and as soon as you took out a bag and shook it, she's come flying in at the speed of sound and start twining around your legs with those soulful kitty eyes looking up at you expectantly. Then she'd get ticked off and start to climb your legs if I didn't open it for her right then and there. And if you put it back in the cabinet, she's get a really disgusted look and sit there yowling.
