Americans as the enemies of the federal government?

Post by Nightshade »

It seems that we're increasingly seen as enemies by the left- even to the point of killing us.
...At issue is an article in the respected Small Wars Journal titled “Full Spectrum Operations in the Homeland: A ‘Vision’ of the Future.” It was written by retired Army Col. Kevin Benson of the Army's University of Foreign Military and Cultural Studies at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., and Jennifer Weber, a Civil War expert at the University of Kansas. It posits an “extremist militia motivated by the goals of the ‘tea party’ movement” seizing control of Darlington, S.C., in 2016, “occupying City Hall, disbanding the city council and placing the mayor under house arrest.” The rebels set up checkpoints on Interstate 95 and Interstate 20 looking for illegal aliens. It’s a cartoonish and needlessly provocative scenario...
Is this the way leftists really see conservative Americans? The enemy to be killed?

I certainly do. As soon as you all can be eradicated, the better for the rest of us.

I don't believe the left is to blame, per-se, in this case. And it's not as wild of an idea as they making it out to be in this article--the U.S. has actually been preparing for massive internal strife--the next battlefield in the "war on terror", I believe--bringing home the mistake for the American people that started in Iraq. It's a sick thought.

Some people believe that's why they are bringing foreigners into the military--because they won't have as much difficulty with the idea of engaging U.S. civilians.

Not any different than "conservatives" who wanted to jail or expatriate every suspected commie during the McCarthy witch hunts in the 1950's. Every political view has their extremes. Just as conservatives see liberals as hippie commie socialists, lefties see tea partiers as butt kissing corporate fascists.

I've heard of people on the left being accused of being the same thing by people on the right. :P This is where the joke is. I'm not laughing.

Just google it slick. The search results in a series of blogs that speak of civil unrest and government killing us poor citizens. Funny though, I've never heard this outcry when the government ordered a new fleet of jets or tanks. Weird, one M1A2S tank could roll through a city and destroy everything will little or no defense yet no one says a word about that.

I think there is a good portion of this country that is teetering on the brink of a psychotic collapse.

I like this little bit:
Although the ammo purchases are ostensibly earmarked for training purposes, the DHS has been reticent to clarifywhy such an unusually large amount of rounds are necessary and why such powerful bullets are required merely for training drills.
Funny, this is exactly what's said about assault weapons / ammo being purchased by everyday citizens for "hunting." I find all this stuff so incredibly dumb, if there is to be some sort of government war on the people, who is going to do the fighting for the government? Oh wait I got it! They're going to use all the people that have been re-trained in FEMA camps right? Oh man it's all making so much sense now.

I'm thinking 750 million rounds will last a little while in a fire fight

Yeah, and just one little cannon shell lobbed in your direction will positively ruin your day. So much for all that ammo. :P

so long as the ammo wasn't purchased off the Interner, I'm good with it.

Only if you happen to have an Iron Man suit on hand. Otherwise, kablooie!, with blood and giblets all over as window dressing. If you had an Iron Man suit, you wouldn't need a puny little gun anyway. :P

I'm not sure why the DHS needs to act as a civil unrest deterrent. Isn't that what state and local police/national guard/army for?

The ban on assault weapons, flash suppressors, etc. will never be lifted. It doesn't matter how many guns you have, you will always be hilariously outgunned, and you will lose the first battle without a single shot being fired.

The 1994 Act contained a sunset provision that caused it to automatically expire 10 years after passage, and it was not renewed in 2004, meaning that there are no federal restrictions on the ownership of AR-15s and similar weapons.
