The Stainless Steel Rat!
I have every single one of those books, and they are unutterably wonderful. Even the comic 2000AD ran two of the novels right through, sometime in the 80s. "Slippery" Jim DiGriz looked an awful lot like a younger version of the actor James Coburn, in the comic version.
I wish they'd make an SSR movie. It'd be awesome.
Who would play the vixen Angelina? Jolie? Could you accept Pitt/Jolie playing those roles? I know I could.
