Show me a modern day buiding constructed in the same manner as the WTC that was rammed by a large passenger plane and survived. The Empire State building is the only building rammed by a larger plane and it survived because it was constructed using a different method.

This is beating a dead horse, but this is simply not true. There is almost an hour between the first plane hitting the WTC and the one that hit the Pentagon.
Yes but in the confusion no one really figured this was a large scale attack by air...even a hour after the first plane hit. It was lucky the men on the one plane foiled the terrorist plans or we might not have a White House.

And as the article notes, prior to 9/11, we simply didn't have a significant number of fighters on alert with the capability to launch within minutes. By the time that air traffic controllers were able to identify which flights had been hijacked and contacted NORAD, it was far too late. From the timing given, the fighter jets only took off at about the exact same time as the planes were hitting the towers.
