A more intelligent way to do this is to post your e-mail like this:

tom /AT/ tomandcatherine /DOT/ com

That way, your e-mail address won't be picked up easily by people's spam-address harvesters.

Another interesting way I've seen is to actually have your address be an image. The person who wants to write you would need to manually type in the address, of course.
