Why I don't care

To be honest, if Obama wins, we will have more debt. We're going to lose most of the Bush tax cuts, if not all of them. However, I don't subscribe the wild belief that this will bring down our country. Retard our growth? Sure.

On the other hand, if Mitt wins, I'm sure he will primarily protect his "unearned income" tax rate. I don't have a problem with that. He MIGHT bring down the debt if he doesn't ★■◆● up and go to war. There's no way he's creating extra jobs by tinkering with the tax code, though it would be nice if it were that easy. He's probably going to focus on taxes paid by shareholders, which I'm also ok with. I also think he's completely out of touch with the real world, based on things he's said when he didn't know cameras were rolling, but that's not going to destroy our country.

So either way we'll be fine.

As far as local elections go, always assume there are mentally handicapped people running for local offices...

wouldn't it be great to have no taxes at all? where the working man pays no taxes, corporations pay no taxes, the wealthy pay no taxes, no excise tax, no sales tax... nothing.

You'd have to borrow money for the entire budget from china, russia, etc with no way to pay it back but it would be great way to live.

The facts are starting to look like a temp election worker was filling in Republican choices when none were marked my the original voter. I guess that wouldn't matter to you since you're probably voting the Republican ticket up there anyway, unless you reside in another county, then it's just Clackamas County's problem.

As for voting machines logging the other party's nominee, that's been happening to both parties ever since electronic voting machines have been used. There needs to be some form of audit trail for those things, because it seems too easy for tampering or screwups to occur.

You know Heretic, that way back in the days of hanging chads and people were first talking of electronic voting, we here on this very board had a good discussion on hacking ballot machines and how easy it would be to do so. That was like 12 years ago
