at any rate, freed from the obligation to kill Spidey, let me continue on what I was trying to get to. I view these matters as at best an agnostic, and likely an atheist point of view. That said, I do find the story and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth interesting. I find it sort of interesting that the Pope debunks aspects that many of the faithful hold dear. Especially interesting is his interpretation that the birthplace was likely a cave of some sort. All in all, a sort of bold approach, for which the old boy ought to be commended. I don't know anywhere near enough to comment on how accurate his reading is, but it was fascinating to see that writing about those things was a priority for him.

I thought the cave thing was fairly common knowledge, but then what do I know. The uproar about it is pretty damn amusing either way.
