Carmack at E3 demonstrating the prototype.
For those who don't really know what I'm on about, first the old thread: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=19670
and now, the video.
Oculus Rift demonstration
Re: Oculus Rift demonstration
:-/ that's a pretty old video dude.
Here's a video of the most recent factory prototype.
The LCD is 1.4 inches bigger than in the original prototypes (now 7 inches, vs the old 5.6 inches), which makes it a little bit bulkier, but on the good side the new LCD is better quality in prettymuch every way. (same resolution though, if anyone's wondering)
(The problem was that the original LCDs they had planned on using.... went outof production, whoops!)
for more info and pics and stuff, scroll through this:
The original release date was for December, but it's been pushed back till March/April.

Re: Oculus Rift demonstration
Well, lets inject a little life into Ferny's post:
The world’s first series of “fully-immersive erotic encounters” is being developed by a new California-based startup. In other words, virtual reality sex is finally on its way.
The new company, Sinful Robot, is producing the game for the virtual reality headset, the Oculus Rift, which is currently in development.
