This is a great show ... of what I get. LOL this is one crazy show. Has anyone gotten anything more outta it than its about aliens and kids coming of age while trying to survive a perv for a dad? :P

This is one i have to go buy. and watch it over and over and over..... :wink:


Edit: ... better yet.. does anyone know what "it" means?

They sure dont look asian.

Ever notice that anything japaneese doesnt hardly feature japaneese characters?

I like it, most people think its weird when they first watch it and then dont try to understand it. But its great.

To make the characters "look Japanese" would mean that they'd have exaggerated stereotypical facial features. And it's not terribly reasonable to essentially be making fun of themselves constantly. There are some exceptions though.

I think anime is, in a way, reinventing itself. Even though it started off as its own style with huge eyes, an increasing amount of anime is looking more realistic and, dare I say, "westernized" that it used to. You seem to see more along the lines of Witch Hunter Robin, for example, as opposed to Slayers.

welll.. any genre like music will change a bit from artist to artist. Each bringing his/her own feel or expression. Eventually, somone adds some flavor or style that is very favorable amongst the masses such as Miyazaki who uses traditional anime but more of a graphic novel style with its leaning towards realisim.

I guess that's what you just said. FLCL is part of a sub-movement of sorts that takes a radical emotion flash expressionism if you will. Or rather it started it as the show is what. ... almost 2 years old now?
