Is anyone playing descent3 or multiplayer on a new mac?

Need help setting up new mac to play my old descent3 game and multiplayer,help please..

While I'm FAR from being an expert in this area, I'll take a stab at this and get stuff started.

First, welcome to the DBB.

Second, this is "new water" as the old D3 Mac patch was designed for the old Mac OS. The newer Macs use a Unix based OS and is nothing like the old version.

Thus, you might want to try the loki patch which was designed for Linux/Unix. I'm only GUESSING here and there are those in this community (such as it is these days) that are far better qualified to help with this.

Honestly, this is the first I've heard of anyone playing D3 on the newer Mac OS.

That kinda stuff. If "you don't know", I recommend doing a little research and find out. Having this info on hand can only be helpful as time goes on.

These are my system specs on my mac:
processor: 2.4 ghz intel core 2 duo
memory: 1gb 800 mhz ddr2sdram
model:imac 8.1
graphics display: ATI Radeon hd2400
resolution:1680-1050

Wow, that is an old Mac. Yeah, this is well beyond my expertise. I'd try the various patches that are available for mac and Linux, but make backups.

The linux version of D3 will only work on linux.
