Reddit around mid day announced this:

They claimed that they had got Team Fortress 2 on reddit.
Then did this to all of reddit


Reddit randomly divided its users into two groups then had them compete against each other, by upvoting your own team and down voting the other. We got hats to distribute and weapons we could use to screw up other peoples comments and names.

My only complaint was the site was slow! really really slow and would occasionally time out. I really couldn't use reddit for most of the day.
Reddit should make these april fools gags for the whole week. It would have been fun playing this site-wide game for a bit longer.
