Re: Sadly
I wonder of those who adamantly appose torture as a means of getting their child back actually have a child. As to torture not working I can refer you to a technique where you take 2 viet cong for a helicopter ride, ask one a question and when he doesn't answer throw him out and let his buddy watch as the guy tries to fly. Second VC starts being very cooperative. The problem with a lot of people today is they been fed a pile of horse pucky about how important the moral high ground is. Just ask the captured Boston bomber what he thinks of the moral high ground. Seems he didn't get the message.
Re: Sadly
The reason that people like the bomber don't value the high ground is the very same reason why we should.
Re: Sadly
Yea...and I think there are waaaay too many people who think they can take the moral high ground using just words.
Re: Sadly
Very pithy TG but it still won't get your child back.

Holy platitudes Batman! Did that come in a Hallmark card for Patriots Day or something?Top Gun wrote:The reason that people like the bomber don't value the high ground is the very same reason why we should.
It isn't that islamofacists don't value a moral high ground it is that they have different criteria for defining it. "High ground", "justification"etc. are relative terms.
One mans high ground is another mans blasphemy.
