Comments on a comic strip...

Post by snoopy »

I have my homepage set to pull up foxtrot. I enjoy the comics. Every once in a while, I have a moment of weakness, and start to read people's comments on the page. I regret it every time.

Somehow, I enjoy reading people's comment when it comes to news/sports stories... but reading people's comments on the foxtrot comic is like pulling teeth for me.

There seem to be two type of comic strip comments:

1. People trying to improve upon the strip by making their own jokes, which are invariably bad.
2. People taking the strip too seriously and trying to add more back story... which inevitably ruins the joke in the strip.

People making bad jokes on the net? You gotta be kitten me.

Showing off knowledge is like chest pounding, kinda like a room full of religious people comparing their knowledge on the bible.

I just stick to complimenting it or saying if it wasn't funny.
But I haven't left comments on any newspaper comics in at least a year. Webcomics are another story...
Not a webcomic, but do you read Pearls Before Swine?
