Is there a sandbox feature in Firefox? And if not, If I run Oracle virtual box and go to a website through Internet Explorer or Firefox, And I protected against viruses and malware?
Re: sandbox Firefox?
Does Firefox have sandbox features? No it doesn't.
What does Virtual Box have to do with Firefox?

Re: sandbox Firefox?
To use as a " sandbox" option. Safe way to open questionable website.
Re: sandbox Firefox?
Firefox has a private browsing mode, which disables cookie and history collection, but that won't exactly protect you against most malware. Maybe private browsing plus NoScript, but I'm no expert. I have to wonder why you'd want to visit any sort of website that's as "questionable" as that in the first place.
Re: sandbox Firefox?
Question is somewhat academic and there are times when searching on Google that the only hit that I'm interested in is a "questionable" site.

Re: sandbox Firefox?
No, Firefox is not sandboxed. (And no other browser really is either, even if they claim it is.) Running it in a VM is one way, but running it on an entirely separate machine is usually the most guaranteed way to keep any potential damage away from a system. Basically make a full disk backup of a spare computer to an image, then open this questionable site on that machine and if it does get wrecked, drop the drive in a dock/toaster and sanitize it, then restore the image.
Re: sandbox Firefox?
I actually prefer a VirtualBox VM to a separate physical machine because by default, VirtualBox will put the virtual machine on a separate VLAN. Malware can steal any passwords sent in the plain* by or infect any exe downloaded in the plain by any machine on its VLAN using ARP spoofing. Plus, VirtualBox makes it easier to clone off a VM when you want to play with some suspicious software and then delete that VM when you are done poking at it.
