Nope.Washington was elected by the electoral college. They didn't have a popular vote then

Johnson was elected VP and became president upon Kennedy's death.

Ford is correct he was appointed to replace Spiro Agnew, and took over as president upon Nixons resignation, he was never elected to the office.

I knew that because I lived during the times. Besides, who could forget Chevy Chase and his Ford impersonations and pratfalls.
