Nice car. Wish I could afford it.

you and me both.......I mean, theoretically, I could purchase it, but the price would be paid from the reaction of Ms Slick to the outlay.......and that price would be dear, indeed.

One good quarter and they are coming back....ok...that's fine but it is too soon to say they are going to survive. They have always been the one electric car that appeals to the rich sports car guys so their price tag isn't a problem albeit the market is a very small niche...car guys that are both rich AND like the idea of electric power in a real sports car. Not many of them here on the DBB though.
If you are saying someone should have mentioned it because it somehow validates Obama's dishing out loans to political donors via his green jobs slush fund then fughettaboutit! Even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes and this nut is far from ripe.

Well if it turns out like the Fisker (sp) car, it'll fail.
Re: odd, no mention here of this....
Tesla is the only company aggressively pushing pure electric vehicles. If they can pull off comparable range to gasoline at a price that won't break the bank (relatively speaking), we're going to see a LOT more EV's on the road.
Hope you have your investment plans in place.

Instead of producing electric cars, they should be finding cleaner ways to produce electricity. Otherwise it's really a moot point.

I do, I have money in Tesla....Obama took it from me in taxes to give to his campaign donors, Tesla being one of them. Most of them took the billions, paid themselves big bonuses and then finished going bankrupt as they were before Obama gave them the "loan"....Ferno wrote:?..

2 a car for the elite. Nice, how's that help the environment or the economy?

Well, if they do well (and I think they will), you'll see that money back. So it's not that bad.

sorry if the link went bad, but the article was about the fact that the money HAS already been paid back, with interest and dividends, as Tesla is now solvent and viable looking enough to raise funds on the equity markets. So no, Woody, you do not own a share of Tesla.

So....if they paid the loan back to the government why hasn't my portion of the tax revenue they loaned them been paid back to me with my share of the interest?

f-u-n-n-y (imaginary) m-o-n-e-y
It was never your money. Your money went God knows where (what do we actually pay for, and what is funded by loans?). Provided the U.S. ever pursues fiscal responsibility, it will be your progeny's money debt. This government will have its people by the balls when all is said and done, unchecked, taxwise, and it still won't be make the determination to be fiscally responsible. For a government with no conscience, peopled by individuals with no conscience, there is absolutely no reason to ever pursue fiscal responsibility, until the money flow stops. You could throw out another possibility (survival of the country), but it would be ludicrous to believe it could ever be considered the only way out, and we were not born yesterday.

Being affordable to, and being designed for are not the same thing.
Base price on the Tsela is 62k. While the all electric Nissan leaf is 28k.
The car was obviously not designed for the average consumer

Oh, in that case, I need to mention that the national debt is starting to get paid down AND the stock market is at an all time high. Even twinkies are coming back. Yee haa! And yes, I wish I could afford a Tesla. So what's the problem now, other than Obamacare, all you righties?callmeslick wrote:sorry if the link went bad, but the article was about the fact that the money HAS already been paid back, with interest and dividends, as Tesla is now solvent and viable looking enough to raise funds on the equity markets. Stock market is a false high. interest rates are so low that investors are putting their money in the market so they can make money because they cannot make it anywhere else. as soon as rates go back up the market will come down and the money will go somewhere else

No it isn't. Only in lala land or in a sycophantic Obama media piece would a tiny and temporary slow down of the rate of constantly increasing borrowing be called paying "down" the debt!tunnelcat wrote:

Go to any lender and borrow $10,000 and then on the day you are scheduled to pay back on the loan tell them you intend to hand them $1 and at the same time you want to borrow an additional $100 more as your scheduled payment and tell me how that works out...

I also think it is funny how in the face of all these scandals which are, at the very least, ethical violations and evidence of his disingenuous character, you only want to focus on how you perceive him maintaining popularity. As if he and his administration are vindicated for their deceit and oppressive tactics!
It may be an indicator of his political survivability but it is in no way a counter to his alleged culpability and it is telling that you are left clinging only that as a means to try and defend them.
Re: odd, no mention here of this....
Well his approval may be climbing, but the latest Rasmussen poll will have the Dems and Obama wetting their knickers:callmeslick wrote:

"While the Democrats had an eight-point "trust advantage" over Republicans a month ago, Rasmussen's latest poll said that edge has disappeared and now the GOP has a two-point advantage."
So slick, if this trend continues, you can quite literally kiss the mid terms goodbye. While the Dems keep sending out their minions out to push the message " nothing to see, move along" regarding Benghazi/AP/IRS, it ain't working. In light of the IRS head claiming the fifth and Obama saying he is firing someone but oh by the way, he can keep his temporary job until it expires in June...is not setting well with the public. The more the mainstream starts talking about it the more the low information voters will become informed voters and informed voters scare the bejeezus out the power whoring, message controlling Obama crowd.

sorry, Woody, but nothing is a given until the GOP gets their slate of candidates.....and, if the Tea Party/Hard right wing loons dominate the primaries, they once again will lose the General in most cases.
